For those who cherish reading in Kolkata, the Kolkata International Book Fair is a major celebration, akin to the Durga Puja festival but aimed at those with a literary passion.

People who adore books eagerly anticipate each year's arrival, knowing they will discover a wealth of reading material from various countries.

This year, the event planners have opted to move the fair to an earlier date to take full advantage of the two national holidays, Netaji Jayanti occurring on January 23 and Republic Day celebrated on January 26, in addition to the two weekends available.

Furthermore, because the majority of board examinations are scheduled for February, the organizers chose to modify the dates.

The coordinators have also shared that the 49th annual Kolkata book fair will host a larger number of publishing houses from both within India and abroad.
